Classic Aero-TV: Bell's Versatile 'Whirly Bird' - The Legendary Bell 47

Some of us can remember back to 1957 when the TV series, Whirlybirds, introduced us to the Bell model 47 helicopter. And then starting in 1972, and running for 11 years, every episode of the TV series M*A*S*H began with two Bell 47’s approaching the landing pad with wounded soldiers strapped to the landing skids.
