Airline Industry Pioneer Weighs In With The Business Travel
Coalition
The Business Travel Coalition (BTC) has transmitted a letter
signed by some 150 organizations to Congressional conference
committee members negotiating a long-term reauthorization of the
FAA. Signatories urged conferees to include language that will
prevent some airlines from continuing to violate Section 41712 of
the U.S. Federal Aviation Act.
Pilot Fatally Injured When The Plane Went Down In Ocala,
FL
An NTSB official said in a media briefing Sunday that the
landing gear on a Cessna 340 which went down Friday near Ocala
International Airport was nearly fully retracted, and the gear
handle was in the up position.
To Be Held In Dallas, TX In Conjunction With Heli-Expo
The social helicopter pilot organization "Twirly Birds" has
announced their annual meeting to be held in Dallas, Texas on
Sunday, February 12th during the 2012 HAI Heli-Expo. The reception
will begin at 1700 CST immediately followed by a membership meeting
at 1800 in Ballroom A, Section 1 in the Dallas Convention
Center.
Expanding Capabilities For Chinook Customers, Others
Columbia Helicopters says it has officially opened its new
turbine engine testing facility. The $4 million project will allow
the company to work on a wider variety of turbine helicopter
engines, and will result in the addition of several new
customers.
A new plant being built by GE Aviation in Ellisville, MS should
be finished by the end of 2012, and fully operational in 2013,
according to the company's media relations manager.
