In what is being described as a major fleet renewal, Air
France-KLM announced Thursday that it has placed orders for as many
as 60 Airbus A350 XWB airplanes, and 50 of Boeing's 787-9
Dreamliners.

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was among 179
passengers and six crewmembers who evacuated United Flight 586
using the inflatable slides Wednesday at Dulles International
Airport near Washington, DC. The 78-year-old Ginsburg has undergone
surgery and chemotherapy since being diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer in 2009, according to the Associated Press.
