"Overwhelming" Vote By UAL Stockholders Sets The Table For Deal
To Close October 1st
United Airlines announced Friday that its stockholders approved
the merger of a wholly owned subsidiary of UAL with and into
Continental Airlines, clearing the way for the merger to close by
an expected date of October 1st.
Venezuela's State Airline Standing Down For Two Weeks Following
Accident Monday
The Venezuelan state airline Conviasa released a statement
Thursday saying they would be suspending all flight operations in
the wake of an accident Monday which fatally injured 17 people.
