Will Roll Remaining Fuel Surcharges Into Published
Airfares
It's not a complete withdrawal from the horrendous added fees
now common on most North American airlines... but it's a definite
step in the right direction. Air Canada announced Thursday that in
response to decreasing fuel prices the airline is eliminating all
second checked-bag charges implemented this spring.
On Wednesday, a Southwest Airlines pilot was the first aircrew
member to be screened by the Transportation Security Administration
using an advanced biometric screening system.
As many airline industry-watchers are aware, a sizable chunk of
the roughly $150 billion dollars in AIG assets expected to go on
the block soon is International Lease Finance Corp, the 2,000-lb
gorilla among aircraft leasing companies.
