Embraer announced Monday EgyptAir Holding Company has placed a
firm order for six Embraer 170s, with options for another six
aircraft of the same type. Delivery of the first aircraft is
scheduled for April 2007, when EgyptAir will also celebrate its
75th anniversary.
Those in the vicinity of Seattle's Boeing Field may be forgiven
if they thought they felt a slight jolt Saturday morning. Don't
worry... that wasn't an earthquake -- but rather the arrival of
Boeing's largest (and, arguably, most aesthetically challenged) 747
in the United States.
