Hurricane Katrina Leaves Eastern Seaboard Short On Fuel
Hurricane Katrina's wrath spread to airports along the East
Coast Thursday as airlines worried about the latest fallout from
the storm: a pending fuel shortage that could ground flights from
Tampa to Charlotte.
Boeing has finally let the world see what the "business end" of
the new 787 will look like. The flight deck features new
technologies while retaining significant operational similarity
with the popular Boeing 777 and other Boeing jets.
America's airports are getting increasingly crowded,
making incidents like the one described below an
all-too-common occurrence. The DHC-8 was apparently clobbered
pretty good and the Airbus not so much.
A little more than two weeks after a Helios Airways 737-200
blasted through Greek airspace without any communication, crashing
near Athens, air traffic controllers again scrambled fighters to
intercept a NORDO aircraft Tuesday. This time, however, the
intercept had a much happier ending.
