First 787 Dreamliner To Enter Onto Service Sees Daylight
The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner that will enter into service
with launch customer ANA rolled out of the paint hangar this
weekend. The airplane reportedly bears a special livery 'signifying
the core element's of ANA's service brand – innovation,
uniqueness and the inspiration of Japan.' "Our teams are making
outstanding progress in completing the first airplane to be
delivered and achieving certification of the 787," said Scott
Fancher, vice president and general manager of the 787 program.
A new national enhanced security screening program for airline
pilots entitled 'Known Crewmember' will begin this week at Chicago
O’Hare International Airport -- the first of several test
sites nationwide. Jointly sponsored by the Air Line Pilots
Association, Int’l (ALPA) and the Air Transport Association
(ATA), the program will positively verify airline pilots’
identities and, as a result, enhance aviation security and reduce
passenger screening lines.
