By most accounts, it's good to be Boeing right now... or, at
least, it's better than being Airbus. In a shareholder presentation
Monday, Boeing CEO James McNerney said the American planemaker has
what it takes to remain dominant in aerospace for years to
come.
Fulfilling agreements made earlier this year between the United
States and the European Union, on Monday the two sides signed a
landmark "open skies" agreement significantly easing restrictions
on transatlantic flights.
Two herons got sucked into an engine of a Boeing 757 twinjet
leaving Manchester, England on Sunday morning, causing flames to
trail from the number two engine. The aircraft made a successful
emergency landing after the pilot shut down the engine.
