Russia's Ilyushin Finance Signs Deal With Bombardier

Agrees To Purchase Up To 42 CSeries Aircraft

Moscow-based Russian leasing company, Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC), has signed a purchase agreement to acquire 32 Bombardier CS300 aircraft and options for an additional 10 CS300 aircraft. The transaction, which follows a letter of intent signed by IFC in 2011, is subject to approval by the company’s shareholders.

Says Airlines Want To Lower The Cost-Per-Seat On Existing Routes

An Airbus executive says that the company thinks airlines will begin looking at larger aircraft as they seek to lower their cost-per-seat on existing routes. Transport Canada Certifies PW1500G Engine

Will Power Bombardier CSeries Aircraft

Transport Canada has granted type certification to Pratt & Whitney for its first PurePower Geared Turbofan engine – the PW1500G engine that will power Bombardier's CSeries aircraft. Pratt & Whitney has conducted over 4,000 hours of rigorous engine testing since the initial engine began testing in September 2010. The PW1500G engine test program included 340 hours of flight testing on P&W's experimental 747 Flight Test airplane.
