Atlas Air Worldwide Completes 747-8 Financing Arrangements

Secures Over $860 Million For Remaining Freighter Deliveries

Atlas Air has entered into an $865 million term-loan facility with Apple Bank for Savings, guaranteed by the Export-Import Bank of the United States, to finance the company’s six remaining B747-8F aircraft deliveries. The aircraft are expected to be placed in Atlas Air’s international ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) service.

GE Aviation’s Dowty Propellers Opens Brisbane Repair Facility

Official Ceremony Planned Later This Month

GE Aviation subsidiary Dowty Propellers has opened a repair facility in Australia to support operators of Bombardier Q400 aircraft in the region. Located at the existing GE facility in Brisbane, the Q400 aircraft propeller repair operations opened on 3rd January 2012. This marks a long- term investment to support the growing fleet in the region. Initial capability will be to repair blades and spinners.

Spirit Airlines Firms Up 75 A320 Family Order Including 45 A320neo

Completes Deal Struck At 2011 Dubai Air Show

Spirit Airlines has finalized its firm order for 75 Airbus single-aisles including 45 A320neo aircraft. The original Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was announced at the 2011 Dubai air show. The airline has not yet announced its engine selection. Spirit's order for 45 A320 neo aircraft was booked in December 2011.
