Bombardier Reports Orders For CRJ1000 Airliners, Q400 Turboprops

Both Customers Request That They Not Yet Be Named

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that an airline, which has requested to remain unidentified at the present time, has signed a firm order for six CRJ1000 NextGen regional jets and has taken options on another 18. Based on the list price of the CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft, the airline’s firm order is valued at approximately $297 million US and could increase to approximately $1.32 billion US should all 18 options be exercised.

DOT Report Shows Lowest-Ever Rate Of Mishandled Baggage

Airlines for America (A4A) on Tuesday released a report showing the best performance ever in 2011 for three key customer-service metrics, including the best on-time arrival rate for any fourth quarter in history. According to the DOT Air Travel Consumer Report released Tuesday, airlines also posted the lowest-ever recorded annual rates in mishandled baggage and bumped passengers.

Airbus Estimates The Region Will Require Nearly 10,000 New Aircraft Over 20 Years

Airlines in the Asia-Pacific region will take delivery of around 9,370 new aircraft over the next 20 years, according to the latest market forecast by Airbus. Valued at $1.3 trillion, the deliveries will account for 34 per cent of all new aircraft with more than 100 seats entering service worldwide over the forecast period, with the region overtaking North America and Europe as the world's largest air transport market.
