Plan Outlines How the Two Operations Will Combine, Following
Financial Close
The FAA has informed Southwest Airlines that it has accepted the
carrier's transition plan to combine the operations of Dallas-based
Southwest Airlines and Orlando-based AirTran Airways, following the
financial close of its transaction to acquire AirTran.
Airline, SWAPA, Have Established Framework To Integrate AirTran
Pilots
Southwest Airlines said Thursday that it has reached an
agreement with its pilots, represented by the Southwest Airlines
Pilots' Association (SWAPA), on an initial Transition Agreement
that establishes a procedural framework for eventually integrating
the Pilots of AirTran Airways into Southwest.
