The way some in West Virginia see it, Sino-Swearingen already
manufactures some components for the company's SJ30-2 bizjet in
their state -- so why not the whole thing? Members of West
Virginia's economic development board will attempt to woo the
American and Taiwanese company next week from its current San
Antonio, TX headquarters.
Last week, Aero-News reported on two separate
incidents along the east coast involving four GA
aircraft that got a little too close for comfort while maneuvering
on tarmacs in Daytona Beach, FL and Dunkirk, NY. Those pilots may
take some comfort, though, that their ignominy is now shared by
flight crews aboard two jets that bumped into each other at Houston
Intercontinental Airport Friday night.
One item of future-tech that Boeing has promised from the
earliest days of the upcoming Dreamliner's development appears to
be one step closer to reality, as Boeing announced last week the
company has selected PPG Aerospace, a business unit of PPG
Industries, to provide electrochromic windows for the passenger
cabin of the 787.
