Southwest Settles Safety Lawsuit

Southwest Airlines has settled a lawsuit which stemmed from safety issues uncovered last year, and resulted in millions paid in fines to the FAA. Southwest has agreed to pay over $3.5 million in fees and expenses for the plaintiff's lawyers, and in exchange claims against Southwest, its officers and directors will be dropped.

Fokker Elmo Wins Contract For Rolls-Royce Trent XWB Wiring

Engine Will Power Airbus A350

Stork Aerospace subsidiary Fokker Elmo has signed a contract with Rolls-Royce to provide design support and manufacture for the electrical wiring for the Trent XWB engine. The associated design-support and production work, which will begin later this year, is expected to be worth approximately $70 million.
