New Rate Is Highest Ever For A Boeing Twin-Aisle Airplane
Boeing has rolled out the first 777 to be built at the increased production rate of 8.3 per month, or 100 airplanes per year. The airplane is a 777 Freighter that will be delivered in February to Korean Air.
Boeing says it will consolidate its El Paso facilities and reduce the workforce there by the end of 2014. The move is part of the company's strategy to increase affordability for government customers and become more competitive in an increasingly global marketplace.
