The Northrup Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge has finally had to
spend some of NASA's Centennial Challenges prize money. Armadillo
Aerospace won the Level One Challenge at this past weekend's
competition in Las Cruces, NM.
The bottom of a lunar crater that lies within permanent shadows
held the promise of finding water on the moon until recent images
revealed no sign of bright icy patches indicative of a sheet of
