Nonin Medical Honored By USAF

Company Played A Role In F-22 Life Support System Task Force

The inventor of fingertip pulse oximetry said Thursday that 15 if its employees have received the United States Air Force Director's Award for their role in helping the Air Force return the F-22 Raptor, the world's most advanced fighter jet, to active service. The award, presented to Nonin Medical, was signed by Major General Charles Lyon, Air Combat Command Director of Operations, and by Colonel Gregory Gutterman, F-22 System Program Director.

Marine Corps Phrogs Finish Final Flight

Sea Knight Helicopters Retired To Make Way For V-22 Osprey Aircraft

CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 made their final flight from Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Japan Sept. 30 to await final disposition at Camp Kinser. The CH-46Es, affectionately nicknamed “Phrogs,” were retired to make way for the MV-22B Osprey as part of a one-for-one replacement. The Phrog has been a part of the Marine Corps’ aviation arsenal since the Vietnam War.

F-35 Program Halts Development Of Alternate Helmet

Pentagon Will Save $45 Million Allocated For The Alternate Design

The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) has informed Lockheed Martin that it decided to halt development of the alternate F-35 helmet and focus exclusively on maturing the Rockwell Collins Elbit Systems of America Vision Systems Generation 2 (Gen 2) helmet currently used in training and testing. The program will recoup approximately $45 million in funds it had originally allocated for the development of the alternate helmet.
