Certified: Max-Viz EVS For Falcon 900 Series

Demand for Max-Viz Enhanced Vision Systems Equipment Expands

Max-Viz has announced the company's first Enhanced Vision Systems U.S. Supplemental Type Certification (STC) of its EVS-1000 system onboard the Falcon 900A, B, C and EX aircraft.

"This U.S. Federal Aviation certification of the Falcon 900 is another milestone win for our company," said Jim Tuttle, Max-Viz CEO.

"Northwest financier and philanthropist Bruce McCaw is our launch customer. The process to certification has been arduous but worth the time it's taken. Bruce is extremely pleased to now be able to use our safety flight system on his aircraft."

Tuttle adds that "demand for the Maz-Viz EVS system is coming from all facets of general aviation, from small airplanes and helicopters to larger aircraft like the Gulfstream IV, Boeing Business Jets, Sikorsky S-76 and Bombardier Global Express."

Max-Viz maintains the advantages of the EVS-1000 differentiate the company over its competitors within the aviation industry.

"Our customers and those calling us, are extremely impressed by the fact our system requires no Heads-Up-Guidance (HUD) systems or special training procedures other than a quick familiarization session. This provides crew's with a maximum safety benefit of less weight, and very little downtime or lengthy training requirements."

The Max-Viz EVS-1000 is now also available for Inmarsat Satcom and Direct N equipped Bombardier Challenger CL-600, 601 and 604 aircraft. To date, according to Tuttle, these aircraft have not been able to have the system installed due to design issues of the Satcom radome on these aircraft. "But the EVS-1000 solution paves the way for all Challenger aircraft to utilize our system," he added.

Max-Viz and some of its global network of 30 dealers in 50 different facilities currently hold certifications for the Bell 212/412, Challenger-600, 601 and 604, Global Express, Falcon 50/50EX, and the Falcon 900A, B, C and EX. STC's are also currently pending for the Sikorsky S-76, the Gulfstream-IV/IVSP, the Pilatus PC-12, the EC-145, Lear 35 and Beech 200/350.

Most of these STC's are expected to be in place by mid-2004.

The EVS-2000 Enhanced Vision System, specifically developed for Cessna by Max-Viz is also a standard factory option on the Citation X and is anticipated to be offered on the Sovereign following that aircraft's type certification later this year.
