Pilot Attempts To Land At Amery Airport, WI
Many stories about plane accidents do not have happy endings.
This one does.
Polk County sheriff officials say 64-year old pilot Lawrence
Stoffel, his 28-year old wife Rowena, and the six-year old child
escaped serious injury when their plane crashed while attempting to
land at Amery Airport in Western Wisconsin Sunday, reported the
All three were taken to a local hospital following the crash of
their single-engine Cessna with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say Stoffel was trying to land the Cessna around
4:30 pm when the aircraft "suddenly went up, and then came down" in
some trees near the runway.
