Wireless Intercom System Designed To Improve Communication Between Pilot, Crew

Becker Avionics Partners With Axnes Aviation AS To Market Polycon Wireless Intercom System

A U.S. and a Norwegian company have entered into a teaming agreement to work together on sales and marketing, as well as product support services for the Axnes Polycon Wireless Intercom System.

Miramar, FL-based Becker Avionics will be responsible to market the Axnes Aviation Wireless Intercom product line to North and South America, including military, governmental and civil customers. In addition, Becker Avionics will act as the service and repair center for the Polycon product in the assigned territory's.

Tom Sekkelsten, Chief Marketing Officer of the Norwegian-based Axnes Aviation said "This teaming agreement will provide Axnes Aviation the ability to better present our technologies to the professional aviation market. This new alliance positions our Polycon wireless intercom system more globally, and will help firmly establish our company as one of the leaders in airborne wireless intercom devices. Our commitment to providing each client with superior customer service will be strengthened by Becker Avionics' proven track record of customer support, engineering, manufacturing, and sales. The teaming of Axnes Aviation and Becker Avionics will provide our customers with a breadth and depth of capabilities truly unique in our industry."

The Polycon system provides the capability to rotary and fixed-wing operators to have audio communications between aircraft crew members in the aircraft and away from the aircraft on the ground, as well as ground support crews. For example, helicopter pilots and off-aircraft flight paramedics preparing a patient for transport and evacuation can remain in constant communication while on the ground and in flight during a hoist rescue mission (up to 15 Nautical miles line of sight range). The Polycon system eliminates communication restrictions by providing seamless hands-free, wireless communications to all members of the crew so members can effectively perform their mission operations.

The Polycon communication system helps to ensure the safety of the flight crew on the ground or during demanding missions. The product consists of one aircraft interface unit, with an unlimited number of mobile equipment units and a battery charger.

The Polycon System provides:

  • Hands-free communication between hoist operators, rescue personnel on the hoist, and off-aircraft crew members.
  • Semi duplex voice-activated mode, hands-free mode, and a push-to-talk mode.
  • Sixteen independent channels with unlimited mobile crew members.
  • Unsurpassed simultaneous omni-directional communications among all users in the aircraft network, within 15 NM of the aircraft or line of sight range.
