Three Receive Master Instructor Designation In July

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Three instructors have renewed their Master Instructor designation in the month of July, with one being named a 'Master Emeritus".

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority. All obtained their designation through the Master Instructor "Fluid Review" program online.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during July 2017 are:

Ann-Margaret "Meg" Godlewski, Lakewood  WA. Master CFI, Master Ground Instructor
Meg Godlewski, a 7-time double Master and SAFE member, recently renewed her Master CFI and Master Ground Instructor accreditations. Meg is a flight, ground, and simulator instructor at SpanaFlight Aviation ( http://www.SpanaFlight.com/ )  She is also a demo pilot for One-Simulation/Modern Pilot, a simulator manufacturer and flight school in the Seattle area.  A noted aviation writer and photographer, her articles regularly appear in Women in Aviation and AOPA's Flight Training magazines. Ann-Margaret "Meg" Godlewski Karen Mayde Kahn

Karen Mayde Kahn, Santa Barbara  CA. Master CFI Emeritus
Karen M Kahn, an 8-time Master and SAFE member, was recently granted Master Instructor Emeritus (MIE) status in recognition of her many years of commitment to excellence, professional growth, service to the aviation community, and quality aviation education.  A retired airline pilot, Karen is an aviation writer, career counselor (http://www.CaptainKarenKahn.com/), and an independent CFI at Santa Barbara Airport (SBA).  She is also a 6-time Santa Barbara Airport Commissioner and serves as a FAASTeam representative in the FAA's Van Nuys FSDO area. Helen Dalman "Pat" Knight, Argyle  TX. Master CFI
Pat Knight, an 11-time Master and a former SAFE board member, recently renewed her Master CFI accreditation. A longtime pilot examiner (DPE) and CFI, Pat worked as an Aviation Safety Inspector (ASI) with the FAA Flight Standards program at Alliance Airport (AFW) in the Fort Worth area where she specialized in single and multiengine training for FAA inspectors.  She currently is assigned to FAA Headquarters in the Airman Training and Certification Branch. A retired US Air Force officer, she is only the second (2nd) aviation educator ever to earn a Master designation when the accreditation program was first introduced in 1997 and is the only one to ever be accredited eleven (11) times.  Email: PKnight@earthlink.net.

Matthew Pope Robbins "Matt" McDaniel, Oak Creek  WI. Master CFI
Matthew McDaniel, an 8-time Master and SAFE member, recently renewed his Master CFI accreditation. Matt, a Cirrus Platinum (CSIP) instructor, owns Progressive Aviation Services (www.ProgAviation.com) home based at Waukesha County Airport (UES) where he specializes in Cirrus aircraft recurrent training.  Additionally, he serves as a FAASTeam representative for the Milwaukee FSDO area and is an A-319 / A-320 series first officer with Virgin America Airlines. Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
