AD: Bell Textron Canada Limited

AD 2021-20-11 Prompted By Reports Of Incorrectly Staked Spherical Bearings In The Directional Control Bellcrank Assembly

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bell Textron Canada Limited (type certificate previously held by Bell Helicopter Textron Canada Limited) Model 429 helicopters. This AD was prompted by reports of incorrectly staked spherical bearings in the directional control bellcrank assembly. This AD requires a one-time inspection of the lower surface of the spherical bearing in the directional control bellcrank assembly to determine if it is properly staked and, depending on the findings, applicable corrective actions. For certain helicopters, this AD also requires repetitive inspections and, depending on the findings, applicable corrective actions. This AD also provides a terminating action for the repetitive inspections. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective November 22, 2021.

Apple Drone Patent Revealed: UAS for Cellular Networks?

Rumors of Apple Drone Exaggerated

Whatever projects they pursue, their market penetration and unique approach towards the end-user tends to have an effect on every product ecosystem they enter. It’s not an overstatement to say that whatever they do, there will be an industry reaction. The imperious swiss watch industry had a brief, if muted panic upon release of the highest tier Apple watch in 2014, fearing their intricately hand-built watches would be knocked from their $5,000+ thrones, with the ‘quartz crisis’ still lingering in the back of their minds. UAS manufacturers and pilots may rightly fear, then, the changes incoming when they see a sleek, glassy white drone mockup with the apple logo in their inbox.

Business, Light Jets Popular Even in Strange World Economy

Embraer released its 3rd quarter delivery results for this year, having fulfilled 30 jets in total. Surprisingly, only 9 of them were commercial jets, with the other 21 split between the company’s executive jets. Selling 2 of their Phenom 500 and 5 of their 600’s, Embraer delivered an impressive 14 Phenom 300 aircraft. The Phenom 300E continued its streak of popularity again this year, still the best-selling light jet for nearly 10 years. Their 1500th business jet was delivered to a Swiss customer, with more to come, if this year’s BACE is indicative of customer enthusiasm. The company is proud of its orders, noting the outstanding value of their book stands north of $16.8 billion.
