NTSB Releases Prelim In Iowa Medical Helo Accident

Bell 407 Impacted Terrain On January 3, Three People Fatally Injured

The NTSB has released a preliminary report in an accident involving a Bell 407 medical helicopter in Clear Lake, IA, earlier this year. Three people were fatally injured when the aircraft went down. The preliminary report indicates that witnessed indicated that the weather was "misty," and one said he had a coating of ice on the windshield of his truck that the wipers would not clear. Another witness said he saw the aircraft turn and then seem to descend "straight down."
