An-72 Had 27 People On Board, All Were Fatally Injured

A Kazakh military An-72 went down Wednesday about 12 miles from Shymkent airport resulting in the fatal injury of all 27 people on board the airplane. Among the passengers on the plane were Kazakhstan's top border guard officials, according to the state security service.

Hawker Beechcraft Dumping Two Underfunded Pension Plans

Programs Cover Non-Union Workers And Retirees

In a filing made just a few minutes before midnight last Friday, Hawker Beechcraft dumped pension plans covering nearly 9,500 non-union workers and retirees that were severely underfunded. The move came as part of an agreement with the federal government's Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp (PBGC) and the planemaker's machinists' union.

Was Convicted On Charges Of Child Pornography In Federal Court

The founder of the south Texas cargo airline Pan American Airways has been sentenced to 30 years in a federal prison after being caught in a child pornography sting online. Robert L. Hedrick, 61, continues to proclaim his innocence, saying he was framed by former business associates.

"To the best of our knowledge (the cargo airline) has never operated in any form. We condemn Mr. Hedrick's actions and offer our heartfelt condolences to those suffering from them."
