CarterCopter Advances towards Mu>1.0 (Part 1)

A recent CarterCopter press breakfast should have been called a "press brunch." The Carter people had so much news to put out that 2 1/2 hours after starting they were still going strong when the next outfit in line to use the media room ran out of patience entirely. International Space Station Status Report: Planning a Spacewalk

Report #22, 3 p.m. CDT, Friday, April 23, 2004

New crewmembers aboard the International Space Station settled into a routine of handover briefings and scientific experiments after their arrival early Wednesday. Epedition 9's Commander Gennady Padalka and NASA ISS Science Officer Mike Fincke docked their ISS Soyuz 8 spacecraft to the nadir port of the Zarya Control Module at 12:01 a.m. CDT Wednesday. They opened hatches and boarded the station about an hour later, beginning a six-month stay.

New England Wing of Van's Air Force Announces Annual Fly-In

The New England Wing of Van's Air Force (NEVAF) has announced its 3rd annual fly-in will be held at Lawrence Municipal Airport (KLWM) on June 12th, with a rain date of June 19th. Hosted by EAA Chapter 106 (www.eaa106.org), this event will feature seminars on formation flying, flight testing and general aircraft building techniques. Although NEVAF is an organization of amateur builders of the Van's Aircraft line of kit aircraft, this event will be of interest to all amateur builders and aviation enthusiasts.

Just Dropping In... USMC Heli Makes Landing In Remote Riverbed

It wasn't what the locals were expecting... A CH-53D helicopter from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 made a precautionary landing in Togochi Town, Hiroshima Prefecture (Japan) April 15 at 2 p.m. The helicopter safely made the landing in the Ota Riverbed due to a malfunction with the CH-53D's first stage hydraulic system.
