Donates Flight In T-6 Military Trainer For Auction
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) is once again donating a flight in its Beechcraft T-6 military trainer to be auctioned during the NBAA/Corporate Angel Network’s (CAN) Evening with Angels, which will take place this week during NBAA’s annual convention in Orlando. HBC has donated flights the past four years, which has raised thousands of dollars for the worthwhile cause.
CAN, the sole beneficiary of the benefit, is a charitable organization that eases the burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centers using empty seats on business aircraft. The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 in the Grand Ballroom of The Peabody Orlando.
HBC continues to have a long-standing relationship with CAN. In addition to HBC’s Chairman Bill Boisture serving as an active member of the CAN Board of Directors, the company and its predecessors have donated more than $270,000 to CAN since 1993.
Deliveries of the T-6 began in 2000 after the aircraft was initially selected to fill the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System role for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. Since then, additional military programs worldwide, including NATO Flying Training in Canada, the Hellenic Air Force of Greece, the Israeli Air Force, the Iraqi Air Force, the Royal Moroccan Air Force and most recently the Mexican Air Force, have chosen the T-6 and its derivatives as their primary trainers. The T-6 has been used to train pilots, navigators and weapons systems operators from approximately 20 different countries.
