Celebrating the Young Eagles Program’s 30th anniversary, the EAA has loaded the year with fun activities to commemorate 3 decades of flight introduction. Following the launch of the program at this year’s AirVenture 2022, the organization kicked off its “Young Eagles 30 Flight for 30 Years”, which will award a commemorative Young Eagles anniversary themed polo shirt to all aviators who fly 30 program participants from August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2022. The EAA will track the flights through their recordkeeping and contact those pilots who reach their milestones to claim their prize.

Transport Minister Says Macron Gave Green Light on Climate Change Proposals to Curb Private Aviation

Hold your nose... another poltician knows what's good for the rest of us, though his errant assumptions seem pretty questionable. Clement Beaune, French transport minister, has hinted at upcoming regulations around private jet use in the country as a way to dissuade the emissions amid a greater push for green transportation. Beaune mentioned that he had already been given the go-ahead by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and President Emmanuel Macron to make real, actionable proposals to curb private aviation in the country. Private jets will be on the agenda at an upcoming meeting of European ministers next October.

New experiments have been keeping the crew of Expedition 67 busy, with studies on cardiology, wound healing, and health in microgravity taking place after the recent departure of the station’s 34-day guest, the SpaceX Dragon. The Dragon completed its uncrewed cargo mission on August 20th, splashing down north of the coast off Florida’s Cape Canaveral. The milestone mission marked the 25th contracted cargo resupply mission to the ISS, bringing more than 2 tons of experiments and cargo back to Earth. As it returns with its batch of experimental work in tow, the Expedition 67 crew begins work on the next group of scientific studies.

On August 10, 2022, about 1459 Pacific daylight time, a Cirrus SR22, N379DH, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Blyn, Washington. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Recorded Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) data showed the airplane departed Friday Harbor Airport, Friday Harbor, Washington, about 1445, and proceeded on a southerly heading as it ascended to an altitude of about 1,100 ft mean sea level (msl).

Accordingly, they founded the Latino Pilots Association (LPA).
