The annual FAA UAS Symposium, which is co-hosted by the FAA and AUVSI, brings together industry and safety professionals, technology experts and regulators to share safety information and updates among the UAS community. Originally set for June 16 to 18 at the Baltimore Convention Center, the symposium will now be conducted as a two-part virtual event. Gogo Inflight Connectivity Now Begins At 3,000 Feet

Delivers Up To 15-20 Minutes Additional Connectivity On Many Flights

Gogo will lower the altitude at which passengers can begin using its connectivity services from 10,000 feet above ground level (AGL) to 3,000 feet AGL for a significant portion of its air-to-ground (ATG) fleet beginning July 20, 2020. Lufthansa Pulls Back... Again

Cutting 100 Aircraft, Germanwings Is Kaput

The Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG has 'approved a second set of measures as part of its overall restructuring program' in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. With the first set of measures launched in early April it had been decided, among other things, to reduce the fleet by 100 aircraft and not to resume the flight operations of Germanwings. Lufthansa will also limit new aircraft deliveries to 80 until 2023 -- reducing it aircraft purchases by about half.  Lufthansa has already sidelined 17 Airbus A320s and 380s, as well as five Boeing 747-400 jets before their scheduled end of service dates.

Pilot Announced Unspecified "Engine Problems" Over The Radio

On June 12, 2020, at 1950 eastern daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Vans RV8, N553KM, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at Henry County Airport (HMP), Hampton, Georgia. The airline transport pilot was seriously injured. The flight was conducted under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. According to the owner/operator of the airplane and several witnesses, the purpose of the flight was for the pilot to join the operator in the air for an airshow practice flight.
