Embraer E-Jets To Begin Flying With Turkish Operator

First E190 Set To Begin Revenue Service This Month

Turkish regional airline Borajet has ratified an agreement to acquire four E190s as part of an initiative to gradually upgrade its turboprop fleet, add capacity and frequencies, and grow its network from its base at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. The airline is acquiring the 100-seat, single-class E190s through a third party lease agreement. The first E190 revenue flight is slated to begin this month.

Will Enhance Operations At Night And In Limited Visibility

A wearable head-up display will be introduced at the Farnborough Airshow next week. Elbit Systems says its Helicopter Skylens provides the aircrew with a true “out of the cockpit” view, displaying flight symbology for day and night operation in severe weather conditions. In limited visibility conditions, the pilot is able to fly eyes out due to the wide field of view.

Shields Will Protect The Schiaparelli Capsule During 2016 ExoMars Mission

Airbus Defence and Space has recently completed the production of the two heat shields for the first European ExoMars mission in 2016. These shields will protect the Schiaparelli capsule when it descends through the Martian atmosphere. They will be delivered shortly to Thales Alenia Space (TAS), the prime contractor on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA).

Northrop Grumman Corporation is investing $20 million to construct a new 25,000 square foot facility to handle space payload integration programs. “This ceremony marks not only the successful completion of a stage of this project in Humberside but the beginning of a new search and rescue helicopter service for the UK.” Source: Neil Grant, Transition Manager with the MCA, in comments made to mark the construction of the new search and rescue helicopter base at Humberside Airport in the U.K. The base will house two state-of-the-art SAR helicopters, operated by Bristow Helicopters Ltd, their crews and support team. It is due to become fully operational in April 2015, when Bristow Helicopters Ltd takes over delivery of helicopter search and rescue services throughout the UK on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
