The U.S. Army has awarded EADS North America a $181.8 million contract option to deliver 34 additional UH-72A Lakota helicopters, bringing the total aircraft ordered to date to 312. Army plans call for procuring 347 Lakotas through 2016.

Two police helicopters collided during operations Saturday resulting in slight injuries to five officers aboard the aircraft and one on the ground. Aircraft Purchased As Part Of International Expansion

Turkish Airlines (THY) has selected GE’s CF6-80E1 engines to power its fleet of 15 firm Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Delivery will begin next year. THY has also signed a 12-year OnPoint solutions agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its new CF6-80E1 engines. The total engine order and OnPoint agreement is valued at more than $1 billion.

On Friday the FAA issued an Emergency Revocation Order against Riggs, directing him to immediately surrender any and all pilot certificates and advising him that no new pilot certificate will be issued to him for a period of one year from the date of the order.
