Aircraft Was Hit Early Sunday Morning
A Los Angeles teenager has been charged with the attempted
murder of a police officer after firing on an LAPD helicopter
The teen, 18-year-old Danny Lopez, hit the aircraft, which made
a successful emergency landing at Van Nuys airport. Radio station
KFWB reports that he was "distraught" over the death of a friend,
and was "tackled" and restrained by family members until police
arrived to arrest him.
No one on board the helicopter was injured in the incident.
