MANUFACTURER: Airbus Model A319, A320, and A321
Series Airplanes SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2010-06-01
SUMMARY: This AD results from mandatory
continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an
aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an
unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the
unsafe condition as:
Two incidents [of near mid-air collision] have occurred on Airbus
A320 Family aircraft during [a] Resolution Advisory with Traffic
Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS). One of the
Human-Machine Interface (HMI) factors was the lack of visibility of
relevant information on the Primary Flight Display (PFD).
This condition, if not corrected, could result in erroneous
interpretation of TCAS Resolution Advisories, leading to an
increased risk of mid-air collision.
