If you’re a furloughed pilot at American Airlines, you had more than turkey and all the trimmings to be thankful for this past Thanksgiving.
The airline will begin recalling pilots effective January of 2013. Operational needs combined with recent and expected retirements are credited with creating the recall opportunities. It’s not just anyone who could stand up and call a statement by Chuck Yeager a “sham” but a three judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, CA has done just that, ruling against the retired General in a publicity lawsuit. The program director for an organization in Great Bend, KS, which raised money to fly WWII veterans to Washington, DC, to visit the WWII Memorial has been arrested and charged with two counts of theft by deception. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
