Sikorsky Delivers Another Black Hawk Recap -- On Budget, Ahead Of Schedule

Company Teams Up With Army To Reach Delivery Milestone

Sikorsky Aircraft says it's delivered the 26th Black Hawk Recap aircraft to the Army -- two weeks ahead of schedule on August 26, 2005. The Recap or A-to-A program, is recapitalization of the UH-60A model aircraft to a like-new A model condition.

A commemoration ceremony was held at the Corpus Christi Army Depot to celebrate the milestone on September 9th. In attendance were MG James Pillsbury the AMCOM Commander, Timothy Sassenrath the Depot Commander, Eric Edwards the Product Manager, UH-60 A/L Utility PMO, John Chapman the Executive Director IMMC, and Dave Adler the Sikorsky Senior Vice President for World Wide Customer Service (WCS).

Sikorsky says the delivery of Aircraft #26 symbolizes the success of the partnership contract between the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) and Sikorsky Aircraft. Another indicator of the strong partnership between the two organizations is that aircraft production output has doubled at CCAD from 2004 to 2005.

The partnership, contracted with WCS in December 2002 is a public-private partnership to reduce maintenance costs and improve fleet readiness for the US Army and Department of Defense rotorcraft. There are eighty onsite Sikorsky and Derco personnel at the two million square foot Corpus Christi facility. CCAD services the Army's entire fleet as well as rotary aircraft from all US military services and numerous foreign customers.

The combination of OEM services and material support has fostered a strong relationship between Sikorsky Aircraft and the Depot, and prompted Colonel Sassenrath to comment, "The Sikorsky partnership is turning the impossible into reality."
