EASA Proposes New Harmonized Rules To Avoid Flight Crew Fatigue

More Than 30 Safety Improvements Contained In The Final Proposal

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has published its proposal to amend the current EU rules on flight and duty time limitations and rest requirements (FTL) for commercial air transport. Released in a final proposal known as an Opinion, the proposed rules contain more than 30 safety improvements compared to current requirements and introduce new limitations to the way crews can be scheduled.

Cessna, in conjunction with Innotech-Execaire, Cessna’s authorized sales representative in Canada, announced an agreement with AirSprint Private Aviation, based in Calgary, Alberta, for a minimum of nine Citation CJ2+ aircraft. At a current retail price of $6.695 million per unit, this agreement represents a total retail value of approximately $60.255 million.

The remains of a serviceman, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and returned to his family for burial with full military honors, according to the Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO). Increases Recent Order To Over 60 Airbus Aircraft

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has placed a firm order with Airbus for an additional 10 A330-300 widebody aircraft. The latest purchase agreement follows a major order from the airline in August for 44 single aisle A321s and 10 A330s under the carrier’s fleet modernization program.

Said Safety Issues Would Be The The Cause Should It Occur

India's minister of civil aviation Ajit Singh said Monday that Kingfisher Airlines could be shut down with very little notice should any safety issues arise. The comments came as Kingfisher cancelled several flights and some Mumbai-based pilots joined engineers in walking off their jobs over non-payment of salaries.
