New features include updated navigation, design and functionality on their iPhones, iPads, laptops and desktops. Flight instructors will also see major modifications to features in the Course Tracking Application (CTA). Want to win a FREE King School’s course, kneeboard, and flight bag? Enter to win by completing either of two options… Survey: https://forms.gle/tMNZmg2ebzZCXxQH7. The Air Force Test Pilot School bid farewell to outgoing commandant, Col. Ryan Blake, and welcomed its new commandant, Col. Sebrina Pabon, during a Change of Command ceremony on Edwards Air Force Base, California, July 9. The commander of the 412th Test Wing, Brig. Gen. Matthew Higer presided over the ceremony which saw history made as Pabon became the first female and non-pilot commandant of the school since its inception in 1944. Where once two aircraft types were used for VFR and IFR training, new DA40 XLT’s will fulfill both roles in one modern aircraft. UVU Aviation has been using DA40 aircraft for the past twelve years. Alan Dennis, UVU Aviation’s Chief Flight Instructor, explains, “When the DA20 C1 fleet needed replacing, the DA40 XLT was the obvious choice. Having a single aircraft type for each VFR and IFR training will make it easier for our maintenance department to control fleet availability. It also curbs the learning curve when our students progress from private pilot to instrument training.” All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
