US Airways' PSA Airlines, ALPA Reach Tentative Agreement

Details Of Contract Not Yet Released By The Pilots' Union

PSA Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US Airways, announced late last week that it has reached a tentative agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents the airline's 515 pilots. Details of the agreement will be made available by ALPA.

"We are very pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with ALPA that recognizes the contribution and dedication of PSA's pilots and thank the union leadership for their support of our pilots" said Keith Houk, PSA Airlines president and CEO. "We would also like to thank the National Mediation Board and Mediator James Mackenzie for their assistance in reaching this new five-year tentative agreement."

“With this agreement, our Negotiating Committee accomplished our goal of gaining much-needed improvements for our pilots while providing opportunities for us to work with our management in planning for the future of the airline,” said Capt. Jesse Coeling, chairman of ALPA’s PSA chapter. “We believe this agreement achieves that important balance between rewarding PSA pilots for their efforts in making our airline one of the best-performing express operations in the US Airways system, and providing the necessary stability for PSA’s and US Airways’ continued success going forward.”

ALPA will be presenting the details of the tentative agreement to its members for a ratification vote in the coming weeks.  The tentative agreement would cover the airline's 515 pilots, who are based in Dayton, OH, Knoxville, TN, and Charlotte, NC.
