Hawker Beechcraft Appoints New Senior VP Of Operations

George Nguyen Comes To Planemaker From Auto Industry

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation announced Thursday the appointment of George Nguyen as senior vice president, Operations. Nguyen is responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations, including all three major plants in Wichita, Salina Operations, Little Rock Completions, Government Business Operations, Performance Excellence (Lean/Six Sigma), Environmental Health and Safety, Supply Chain and Facilities.

"In a distinguished career with an international and operational focus, George has demonstrated that he is the right person to help us achieve world-class operational excellence," said Jim Schuster, chairman and CEO. "He brings extensive operational and supply chain/logistics expertise to Hawker Beechcraft from some of the world’s largest automotive, commercial vehicle components and aerospace companies."

Most recently, Nguyen was president and chief operating officer of Asimco Technologies Inc., a China-owned equity-owned automotive and commercial vehicle components manufacturer. Prior to Asimco, he was a vice president and president of Eaton Corporation’s HDT Operations and Truck, based in Michigan.

From 1997 to 2001 Nguyen held senior executive positions with Honeywell/AlliedSignal Aerospace, including: vice president and general manager of Hardware Products Group; vice president Americas Repair and Overhaul; president and CEO of AlliedSignal Aerospace Canada; vice president and general manager, Power Management & Generation Systems; and site general manager, Aerospace Equipment Systems, Toronto, Canada. He also held various senior operational positions with United Technology Corporation in their Pratt & Whitney Engines Business, and has been heavily engaged in implementing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma since 1992.

Nguyen holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Boston University.
