FlightSafety International and Flight Research Partner on UPRT

Course Aims To Reduce Loss Of Control In Flight Accidents

FlightSafety International and Flight Research have launched their joint Upset Recovery Training. This offering aims to reduce loss of control in flight accidents by fusing FlightSafety International’s unmatched type-specific simulator training with Flight Research’s in-aircraft instruction. This Upset Recovery Training will give pilots the opportunity to experience inflight upset with real gravitational forces, vestibular excitation and mental stress that can only be delivered in a plane; further building upon FlightSafety’s simulation programs that replicate scenarios which cannot be safely accomplished in an aircraft, such as very low-level stall events.

AD: CFM International, S.A. Turbofan Engines

AD 2021-10-06 Prompted By Multiple Reports Of Pressure Sub-System (PSS) Unit Faults

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain CFM International, S.A. (CFM) LEAP-1B model turbofan engines.  This AD was prompted by multiple reports of pressure sub-system (PSS) unit faults due to pressure transducer corrosion following extended storage periods. For an engine in service, this AD requires checks for engine maintenance messages related to the pressure transducer and, depending on the results of the check, replacement of the PSS unit before further flight. The AD requires this repetitive check for faults prior to each flight until the PSS has accumulated at least 15 hours of electrical power. For an engine not in servic

Aero-News: Quote of the Day (05.05.21)

"We're very satisfied with our purchase of the 1800th PC-12, and after flying it I'm certain we made the right choice. The return on cost is certainly the best in its category, as the NGX includes the latest engine and avionics technology, and the interior and exterior is a thing of beauty. Pilatus should be proud of the distinctive precision of its Swiss origin." Source: Alán Aguirre, owner of Divine Flavor LLC, a family-run and grower-owned distribution company based in Nogales, Arizona, following the first flight in his new PC-12 NGX.
