Boeing Delivers 6th Production P-8A Poseidon Aircraft To US Navy

Final Delivery Of The First Production Lot

The sixth production P-8A Poseidon aircraft was delivered by Boeing to the U.S. Navy Jan. 31, successfully completing the first group of low-rate initial production aircraft that are dramatically improving the service's maritime patrol capabilities. The delivery is the final aircraft from a contract awarded in January 2011.

ALC Signs Contract For 25 A350 XWB Aircraft

Significant Lessor Order For Airbus' Newest Aircraft

Los Angeles, CA, based aircraft leasing company Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has signed a contract for 25 A350 XWB Family aircraft, consisting of 20 A350-900 and five A350-1000, the largest member of the A350 XWB Family. ALC also has options for five additional A350-1000s.  With this new order, ALC becomes the 35th A350 XWB customer and the order takes the A350 XWB backlog past 600 (to 617).

Ten-Million-Year-Old Star Could Still Create 50 Jupiter-Sized Planets

A star thought to have passed the age at which it can form planets may in fact be creating new worlds. The disk of material surrounding the surprising star called TW Hydrae may be massive enough to make even more planets than we have in our own solar system.
