Space Shuttle Atlantis lifted off for a mission to ISS at 1428 Monday afternoon, in what NASA called a "Flawless" launch. "What a great way to start this mission," said Bill Gerstenmaier, associate administrator for Space Operations. "I can't say enough about the teams that got this vehicle ready to fly."

Over the weekend, employees at Boeing's facility in Everett, Wash., finished reinforcing the full-scale static test airframe and the second Dreamliner designated for flight test. Installations were completed Nov. 11 on the first flight-test airplane.
