Source: Congressman JD Hayworth (R-AZ), urging President Bush to authorize the FAA to inspect and reinstate 33 aerial firefighting tankers grounded when the Forest Service abruptly cancelled their contracts. The FAA has agreed to conduct emergency inspections on the grounded aircraft, but has not yet set forth a timetable for doing so and has not indicated what action, if any, might be taken when the results of those inspections are in.
