CMA-9000s Will Be Standard On Trainers
CMC Electronics told ANN Monday the company will supply its
CMA-9000 Flight Management System (FMS) to Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. as
a standard fit on the fleet of Pilatus PC-21 turboprop trainer
aircraft selected by the Republic of Singapore Air Force. CMC
Electronics is also supplying its compact, high-performance
SparrowHawk Head Up Display (HUD) integrated with a HUD Symbol
Generator, and a Video Display Unit for the rear cockpit of the
PC-21.
"The selection by Pilatus Aircraft of our industry-leading FMS
for the Republic of Singapore Air Force PC-21 fleet confirms the
capability of our product," said Bruce Bailey, CMC vice president,
commercial aviation. "The commercial transport version, CMA-9000CT,
was recently selected by Airbus Transport International for the
retrofit of its fleet of five A300-600ST Beluga transport aircraft.
The same FMS has already been selected by Lufthansa for the
retrofit of its fleet of fourteen A300-600 aircraft. In addition,
another variant of our CMA-9000 was selected by Thales for their
avionics suite on the Sukhoi SuperJet 100."
The CMA-9000 family of compact FMS variants is well suited for
modern digital cockpits in fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft for both
civil and military applications. The single unit CMA-9000 has
civil- certified multi-sensor GPS, INS and DME navigation
capabilities and advanced communication functions such as Datalink.
It conforms to the ARINC-739 multifunction control display unit
standard, making it suitable as a display and control unit for
other systems such as ACARS, ACMS and Satcom. It is the
next-generation FMS derived from CMC’s successful CMA-900
FMS/GPS and CMA-3000 FMS. The CMC Electronics’ previous
generation FMS, the CMA-900, is in service with over 60 airlines
and military operators.
Pilatus Aircraft Ltd was founded in 1939 and is world market
leader in the manufacture and sale of single-engine turboprop
aircraft. It is the only Swiss company that develops and produces
private and training aircraft.
