Cirrus SR22 Claims Title Of World's Best Selling Aircraft... Again

Aircraft Manufacturer Leads Industry Sales

Cirrus Design has announced that year-to-date shipments just released by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) confirm their dominant position as the market leader in high-performance, single-engine, four-place airplanes.

"For the past three years the popular CIRRUS SR22 has been the world's best selling airplane," said John M. Bingham, executive vice-president of sales & marketing. We're pleased that our year-to-date total deliveries of 447 airplanes - 350 of which were SR22s - continue this trend and reflect the excitement in the industry surrounding CIRRUS aircraft."

According to the GAMA report, the SR22 deliveries exceeded its closest competitor by 110 aircraft. CIRRUS delivered 350 SR22s compared to 240 Cessna 182s. CIRRUS remained the category leader in four-place aircraft with their 447 deliveries.

Bingham said, "Our aircraft deliveries put us ahead of our year-to-date target and are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our sales force that sells each and every airplane factory-direct to a customer and not to a dealer network that stockpiles inventory."

"Due to the continuing demand from the public to fly a technologically advanced and safe airplane, we have commenced construction to increase the size of our manufacturing facilities in both Duluth, Minn. and Grand Forks, N.D. This new construction will accommodate the boom in aircraft production and the growth of our workforce," said CIRRUS President and CEO Alan Klapmeier.
