Bombardier Elevates Standard Package For Learjet Aircraft Family

Adds In-Flight Connectivity To Its List Of Options

Bombardier Aerospace announced a significant enhancement to the standard offering on Learjet 40 XR, Learjet 45 XR and Learjet 60 XR aircraft late last week, bringing a wide array of technology and design choices that were once optional to baseline. The standard-equipped Learjet 40 XR aircraft will also include an increased fuel capacity allowing for an additional 268 NM (496 km), bringing its maximum range to 1,991 NM (3,687 km). In addition, Aircell SwiftBroadband worldwide capability is now available as an option for all current-production Learjet aircraft.

Already available for order, standard-equipped, current-production Learjet aircraft will feature new CMS touch screens, enhanced connectivity, including MP3 compatible devices such as an iPod, and a variety of interior cabin design and furniture options.

"Our commitment to offer innovative new products and our ongoing investment in our product development strategy are key contributors to our overall success," said Rod Williams, Vice President, Marketing, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "We are focused on providing our customers with aircraft that meet or exceed their needs and expectations, and this has led us to elevate our baseline offering for Learjet aircraft, creating a new Bombardier standard."

Learjet 40 XR and Learjet 45 XR jets will both receive upgrades to the standard offering for the cabin, aircraft equipment, interior design and furnishings. Entertainment improvements include a 12.1" forward monitor, a moving map system, a 110-volt power system, a cabin DVD player and a cabin audio system along with passenger audio/video input. New interior design features will enhance the cabin environment, and a galley rest seat is now included in the furniture package. A belted toilet, certified for take-off and landing, is also available on the Learjet 40 XR aircraft.

In addition, the six-to-seven passenger Learjet 40 XR aircraft now offer a standard range of 1,991 nm and enhanced avionics featuring Dual Angle of Attack indicators.

The new baseline avionics package includes a dual file server unit, providing paperless charts capability, enhanced map overlays and a Rosemount ice detection system. The Learjet 60 XR aircraft will be equipped with 15.1-inch forward and aft monitors and will include the same entertainment enhancements that apply to the Learjet 40 XR and Learjet 45 XR aircraft, as well as interior design upgrades.

Although not part of the Bombardier Standard package, in-flight connectivity options are also moving to the next level for the Learjet aircraft family, as customers can now benefit from Aircell SwiftBroadband systems as optional equipment. Learjet aircraft operators can now choose from a full range of in-flight connectivity and communication features including voice, Internet, e-mail, cockpit data services and more.
