EAA WomenVenture is designed to inspire women to build camaraderie, celebrate the joy of aviation, and open doors to mentorship moments that encourage women to pursue their dreams in aviation. Navy's VP-45 Finds Missing Mariner Near Micronesia

Patrol Squadron (VP) 45 Executed A Successful SAR Mission From Andersen AFB

A mariner onboard a 19-foot long skiff was reported missing on June 5 off the coast of the Federated States of Micronesia. VP-45 received tasking from the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) Guam and executed a search of an assigned search box 900 nautical miles south east in the waters off the coast of Guam. The crew launched from Kadena Air Force base, Japan in the pre-dawn hours, stopping at Andersen AFB to refuel before entering their search grid. Combat Aircrew (CAC) 7 began their search pattern at approximately 1 p.m. local time.

NASA Invites Proposals for Next 2 Private Astronaut Missions to ISS

The First Targeted Flight Opportunity Will Occur Between Fall Of 2022 And Mid-2023

NASA is seeking proposals for two new private astronaut missions to the International Space Station as part of the agency’s efforts to open space to more people than ever before. With these opportunities, US commercial companies will continue to play an essential role in establishing a sustained presence in low-Earth orbit (LEO) through the agency’s Commercial LEO Development Program. The first targeted flight opportunity will occur between fall of 2022 and mid-2023 and the second will occur between mid-2023 and the end of 2023. Proposals are due Friday, July 9, 2021 at 5 p.m. EDT.

Raisbeck Notes Milestone for New Caravan Drag Reduction Program

"We Have Completed Over 131 Flight Hours"

Raisbeck Engineering has completed the company’s pre-certification flight tests for its new STC program, EPIC Caravan, a drag reduction system designed for the Cessna Caravan 208B. Completion of the pre-certification flight tests marks a significant milestone and clears the way for STC approval which the company anticipates receiving in August. The system includes a composite Forward Cargo Pod Fairing and metal Dual Aft Body Strakes. “We are in the final phase of pre-certification,” stated Hal Chrisman, President of Raisbeck Engineering.

NTSB Prelim: PZL Warszawa-Okecie PZL-104

'Veered Abruptly To The Right And It Exited The Runway Pavement'

On May 29, 2021, at 1451 central daylight time, a PZL Warszawa-Okecie PZL-104 airplane, N124MS, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at the Pearland Regional Airport (LVJ), Pearland, Texas. The pilot was fatally injured; the passenger was seriously injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) data indicated that the flight departed the Texas Gulf Coast Regional Airport (LBX) at 1406. Glideslope Intercept Altitude The published minimum altitude to intercept the glideslope in the intermediate segment of an instrument approach. Government charts use the lightning bolt symbol to identify this intercept point. This intersection is called the Precise Final Approach fix (PFAF). ATC directs a higher altitude, the resultant intercept becomes the PFAF.
