The Very First Seat On New Shepard Sells For A Stunning $28 Million

Blue Origin has concluded the online auction for the very first seat on New Shepard with a winning bid of $28 million. Nearly 7,600 people registered to bid from 159 countries. The winning bidder will fly to space on New Shepard’s first human flight on July 20, and will join Blue Origin founder, Jeff Bezos, and his brother, Mark. The winning bid amount will be donated to Blue Origin’s foundation, Club for the Future, whose mission is to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM and to help invent the future of life in space.

Vaughn College has partnered with JetBlue as part of the company’s University Gateway Program. Launched in 2007, the JetBlue University Gateway Program is currently the airline’s longest-running pathway program for aviation college students that attend Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI)-accredited institutions. The Navy and Marine Corps newest aviators graduated from Training Squadron VT-86, at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., May 27. During the graduation, aviator wings were pinned on to students signifying that they have completed the training required to become naval aviators. Out of 16 graduates at the Saberhawks most recent “winging ceremony” one Marine took home a set of wings, marking a historic moment in Marine Corps history. US Marine Corps 1st Lt. Brenda McCarthy (pictured below) is the last female Marine to receive her aviator wings for the position of Weapon Systems Officer, or WSO.

One Witness Stated That It Looked Like The Pilot, “Didn’T Pull Out Of A Barrel Roll.”

On May 18, 2021, about 1325 central daylight time, an Air Tractor airplane, N887LA, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Clayton, Louisiana. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight. The operator stated that the pilot had completed several flights already and was in the processing of spraying product on a field when the accident happened.

AD 2021-11-21 Prompted By A Report Of A Manufacturing Quality Escape Found During An Inspection

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain CFM International, S.A. (CFM) LEAP-1A model turbofan engines. This AD was prompted by a report of a manufacturing quality escape found during an inspection of a high-pressure turbine (HPT) case. This AD requires the removal from service of the affected HPT case. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective July 15, 2021.

AD 2021-11-01 Prompted By The Engine Manufacturer Expanding The RPM (N2) Steady-State Operation Avoidance Range Limits

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2013-20-13 for certain Bell Helicopter Textron Canada Limited (now Bell Textron Canada Limited) (Bell) Model 206B and 206L helicopters. AD 2013-20-13 required installing a placard beneath the engine power dual tachometer and revising the Operating Limitations section of the existing Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM) for your helicopter. This AD was prompted by the engine manufacturer expanding the RPM (N2) steady-state operation avoidance range limits. This AD retains certain requirements of AD 2013-20-13, and requires revising certain sections of the existing RFM for your helicopte
