A Navy F/A-18D on a training mission went down just after takeoff Friday afternoon, impacting an apartment building after the pilots ejected. Both pilots, along with four people on the ground, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Boeing 747-8 Freighter reaches six months in service this month, and the planemaker says the aircraft is setting new standards of efficiency and performance – meeting or exceeding expectations in service reliability, fuel burn, and payload capacity. The airplane entered service in October 2011 with launch customer Cargolux.  Boeing has delivered 14 747-8 Freighters to five airlines (Cargolux, Cathay Pacific, Atlas, AirBridgeCargo and Korean Airlines) around the world.

Her Pilot/Husband Died During A Flight, She Saves Herself

John Collins, 81, and his 80-year-old wife Helen were flying home to Sturgeon Bay, WI from Marco Island, FL in their Cessna 414A (similar aircraft pictured) when John passed away at the controls of the airplane. Helen, who according to family members had flown in the past ... but not for thirty years and never in the 414, was forced to take matters into her own hands.
