Textron has previewed the next generation of its King Air turboprop family with the Beechcraft King Air 360/360ER. The updated turboprop offers the latest technological advancements in the cockpit, a redesigned cabin, and enhancements to passenger comfort. Co-Chairs of the 75th Commemoration of the End of WWII are looking forward to the pending arrival of 14 classic combat aircraft slated to participate in Oahu, HI, flyovers as part of the commemoration events. &ldquo;Salute Their Service, Honor Their Hope&rdquo; is the theme of the Commemoration in Hawaii in recognition of the veterans and civilians who participated in WWII and contributed to the actions that led to the end of the war. The 75th Commemoration of the End of WWII will include three Legacy of Peace Aerial Parades and will culminate with the Official 75th WWII Commemoration Ceremony on September 2.

The Eastern Michigan University Aviation Program is putting out the word that they are NOT closing, but changes are definitely underway.&nbsp;The program is currently in operation and University officials have put out the word that they remain "very excited about the program's future." Some 30 years old, the Aviation Flight Technology [BS] offers private pilot, commercial pilot, and certified flight instructor certificates, as well as instrument, complex, high-performance and multi-engine ratings.

During the last AOPA regional Fly-in event of 2014, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, had the opportunity to take a flight in a new Great Lakes biplane.&nbsp;In this video, he talks with Peter Bower, the president of the WACO Aircraft Corporation. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bombardier, Inc., Model CL-600-2B19 (Regional Jet Series 100 &amp; 440) airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports that during airplane wing fatigue testing, fatigue cracks were found on the lower right-hand-side wing plank at the end of the integrally machined stringers, which led to a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This AD requires, for certain airplanes, revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations. On July 18, 2020, about 0745 central daylight time, a Cessna 140 airplane, N140AB, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Arlington, Texas. The flight instructor and student pilot were uninjured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight. According to the flight instructor, the purpose of this flight was to fly the airplane crosscountry for tire repairs, and at the same time, to train the student pilot on the airplane.

The OC Air Show will take place on its rescheduled date of August 15-16, 2020. NASA's Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) team, in collaboration with the Earth Observatory of Singapore, used satellite-derived synthetic aperture radar data to map the likely extent of damage from a massive Aug. 4 explosion in Beirut. Synthetic aperture radar data from space shows ground surface changes from before and after a major event like an earthquake. In this case, it is being used to show the devastating result of an explosion.
